Organic tempered ceramic wares in Sweden

This project collates the data from ceramic wares identified to contain organic temper found at excavated sites within the borders of modern day Sweden. The data mainly derives from the now closed Ceramic Research Lab (KFL) in Lund, which has been rescued and is now stored in the Strategic Environmental Archaeology Database (SEAD) (https://www.sead.se). Additional samples was provided from SKEA ceramic consultancy (https://www.stilborg.se).  

The data consists of thin section analysis results of the clay (recorded as estimations) and added temper material. Additionally, location data for the Comb Ceramic site of Lillberget, Överkalix, which has been analysed macroscopically, was included as well. 

The thin section file includes the SEAD SiteID for those samples that have been imported to the database. The SiteID can be used to connect to the site reports in the SuperSEAD interface where additional information and references can be found. The base URL for landing pages is https://browser.sead.se/site/X, where the X is replaced by the SiteID.
